Local artists aid students in launch of new creativity program for youth
Local artists helped students from Topeka and Junction City launch a new program to help youth develop their creativity in a positive way.

Creative Pathways and Means held an event Friday allowing young people to express their own creativity in a comfortable environment. They were also able to hear directly from local artists, and break out into sessions to explore the creative process for themselves.

JAG-K students put Kiowa County schools on the map
The Kiowa County JAG-K program qualified 20 students (13 high school and 7 junior high) for the annual JAG-K Career Development Conference that was held at McPherson College. For the first time ever, the Mavericks were able to finish 1st place in the high school division. Also for the first time ever, USD 422 finished 1st in the middle school division as well!
