#GivingTuesday Letter: Help save lives through education by supporting JAG-K
Good morning and happy #GivingTuesday!
I am writing today to ask you to “Help save lives through education by supporting JAG-K!”
Tuesday, Dec. 1, is #GivingTuesday, a global movement to connect those who want to make a positive impact with those who need it most.
JAG-K programs help some of the most educationally at-risk and economically disadvantaged students overcome their barriers to success.
- 75% of JAG-K students qualify for free or subsidized lunch (spring 2020)
- 72% of JAG-K students lack motivation or maturity to pursue education or career goals (spring 2020)
Why do we say that JAG-K is saving lives?
Statistics say that graduation and learning a trade produces many great outcomes, which include decreasing homelessness, poverty, involvement with the justice system, social service needs, and suicide in communities across Kansas.
Thus, support of JAG-K is an investment in students, their families, and local communities across the state of Kansas. JAG-K helps students not only to receive their diplomas, but also to learn about career paths, develop the skills to succeed in the workplace, and gain meaningful employment while still in high school.
Not only does it help students on the path to graduation, but it also mentors them to help them make their “next step” decision for their best chance at success. This could include college, trade school, military service, or entering the workforce directly after graduation. Once they graduate, JAG-K supports its graduates for another year to help them successfully transition to post-secondary work and educational opportunities.
So you can “Help save lives through education by supporting JAG-K!” Would you please consider supporting JAG-K this Giving Tuesday? Go to https://secure.jagkansas.org/np/clients/jagkansas/donation.jsp.
Thank you, and happy #GivingTuesday!
